History
Grégoire de Lafforest
From his childhood in Brittany, near Brest, Grégoire de Lafforest remembered visits to the shipyard overlooking the beach below the family home. The maritime world, its materials, its shapes and its scents… A revelation at the source of his vocation as a designer. During his studies at Penninghen, he met Jérémie du Chaffaut, creator of Midi.
From there is born a great friendship, and a common vision guided by the desire to put meaning back into design, to promote local craftsmanship, accurate lines, local materials. From their meeting was born Ker, a contemporary rereading of the Atlantic universe.
KER honors tradition while returning to the purity of the form.
Inspired by Breton peasant furniture, KER places these traditional pieces in a contemporary reinterpretation between heritage and virtuous innovations. Reworked lines, simplified design; furniture and objects intended for today's spaces.
